Screen

The mesh is also HDPE and engineered to last years in salt water. The standard plastic screen mesh is 0.5″ square but a variety openings are available from 1/8″ – 1.25″ both square and diamond openings.

Gasket

Mounted on the bottom is a plastic non woven fabric made of polypropylene. We install the gasket for three main reasons:

  • The gasket helps keep sediment from going past the curb screen into the drain. It is extra long so it can be doubled over and fill holes and cracks in the concrete gutter.
  • The gasket also helps wick water under the frame that otherwise stand in front of the screen until the water becomes high enough to pass over the bottom of the frame.
  • The gasket holds many times its weight in road oils to keep them from going down the storm drain.

Gasket Staples
